Everything Will Be Allright was an experiment with the function and role of the fortune-teller, focusing on the clients’ individual potential, rather than relying on destiny or an external power.

The sessions were carried out with the aid of 36 cards, with drawings of everyday household items and appliances on them. The cards were laid out, drawings up, on a table, and the clients were encouraged to pick out three cards. The images chosen and their composition were then interpreted as the inner resources and individual potential that the clients disposed over, and that would enable them to deal with differents challenges, and thus make “everything allright” by their own means and powers.

The consultations varied from 10 to 25 minutes, depending on the clients’ willingness to engage in a further discussion of the concept of happiness, and how it is being understood and obtained in our culture.

Produced for and presented at the video- and performance festival Artgenda, curated by Stefan Karlsson
The arrangement took place at Nefertite Jazzclub, Gothenburg
