An installation with seven* video-taped lectures, each looped on it’s own monitor. The piece is featuring a woman in her home-environment, using the form and verbal framework of media and the institution to express her views on a number of everyday phenomenons and occurrences. Here, the main focus is on the gap between the public and the privat room, as well as on that between the prestige of different kinds of knowledge.
* The series as a whole consists of nine lectures, where seven are included in the installation and two are “bonus-tracks” on the DVD
Lectures 1997… was first presented at the Louisiana Exhibition 1997 in Denmark, and has since been shown in connection with Mapping and Instruction at Bricks and Kicks, Vienna 1997; Transpositions, South African National Gallery, Cape Town 1998; Spiral TV, Spiral Building, Tokyo 1999 and The Korea Biennale, Kwangju City Art Museum, Korea, 1999.
