Lectures July 1996

a series of six lectures held in front of a live audience in the exhibition space

Lectures July 1996 took place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and had an average length of 30 minutes. A video-documentation of each lecture was added to a continuously growing library, which in it’s completed form constituted the piece for the remaining two weeks of the show.

The subjects of the lectures themselves covered a wide range of issues, and were, as a rule, a combination of facts and fiction. The piece addresses the phenomenon of expertise, and of the authority that comes with the role of the expert.

Presented at the Copenhagen exhibition-space “Overgaden” in connection with the exhibition When Shit Hits The Fan, curated by Tone O Nielsen.
