ONGOING RESEARCH:
PERFORMING RESISTANCE

The aim of Performing Resistance is on the one hand to examine the relationship between political art, academism and activism, and on the other to locate and realize the transformative potential of art and the art institution. The project can be seen as an instrument for expanded use of the art academy and as a tool for developing new modes of making, teaching and researching art in a time of political emergency. By employing the resources of the academy as tools for civil society, the project holds the potential of becoming a vehicle for the transitional phase that art educations are currently facing as they deal with the changing needs of artists who want to be a part of the social and political reality outside of the art scene.
