She’s Funny

Well, she isn’t as thin as he’d wished for

And, god, not as pretty at all

She is rather a strange kind of creature

Awkward and bony and tall

And she’s not as well educated

As he’d hoped - or as good in bed

And not really as socially gifted

Judging from what she just said

(Still, she is funny)

And so he decides they’ll be happy

Good girlfriends are hard to come by

And everyone needs a companion

Someone holding your hand when you die

(And, she is funny)

“I am leaving”, she says, and she rises

“Sure you’re pretty” (she puts on a glove)

“But brother; your personality

Is the kind just a mother could love”

(Yes, she is funny. She is funny that way)
