Here She Comes

see her coming down the street
a sailors rolling walk

see her pass the passers by
she has no time to talk

see how straight that back of hers
see that level gaze

see how beauty passed her by
and see that lovely face

see her now ignore the rules and up against the wall
given the choice of either or she say’s “I’ll take it all”

see her now refuse to take that really good advice
see her never turning back and see her pay the price

See her entering the establishment, ordering her drink with the slightest nod wiping moist strands from her face, sliding onto the plastic clad stool, smiling.

Every Wednesday you’ll find her in this quiet place, upsetting the silence only when accidentally banging the side of the counter with the hook replacing her left hand.
